edge effects

Edge Effects is the digital magazine of the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center for Culture, History and Environment.

strange fur worked with the Center’s interdisciplinary community of scholars, writers, and artists to design, build, and maintain Edge Effects as a public-facing online magazine.

After Edge Effects launched in October 2014, strange fur served as the magazine’s inaugural managing editor, leading a team of six editors to develop style guides and publishing workflows.

Together, we recruited, edited, and published high-quality content ranging from long-form essays to poetry and photography twice weekly. In the magazine’s first year, we built an audience of 5,000-7,000 monthly views.
